The Project

Osram Sylvania, Inc. manufactures lighting products, systems and services for homes, businesses, institutions and specialty applications. Located near Toronto, Osram Sylvania’s Canadian headquarters houses their national distribution centre and customer service support centre, Sylvania Lighting Services and the LIGHTPOINT® education and training facility.

The Challenge

The 15,514 sq. m. (167,000 sq. ft.) distribution centre stores inventory for distribution across Canada and features a state-of-the-art push-back racking structure to provide prompt order service and guaranteed fill rates. This important facility needed an energy-efficient roofing system and features many penetrations for numerous HVAC units, which provide the necessary climate control conditions.

The Solution

As both an important corporate facility and warehouse, this project features a signature IKO® PrevENt® Fire Rated Roofing System. This premium system includes ArmourGard™ Ice & Water Protector, IKOTherm® Polyiso Insulation, an MP-180-SS-Base Sheet and the PrevENt MP-250-Cap Sheet, all backed by an IKO 20-year Total Value Limited Warranty. The PrevENt system was selected for Osram Sylvania to provide an extra protective coating and line of defense to one of IKO’s best asphalt-based roofing systems.
